Day 17 Celebrate Milestones, Successes & Accomplishments

In yesterday's post, I talked about a strategy of using your past accomplishments to motivate you now. Yet there are so many other ways to keep you on track and pushing towards your goals. Sometimes we get so focused on making this big transformation or reaching our “final” destination that we forget to notice the changes we're made already. I’ve said it before, seeing our successes, can help motivate you. Let’s take this one step further and CELEBRATE those successes! Let's discover the reasons why you should CELEBRATE milestones, successes and accomplishments on your path toward achieving your goals.

Improve Your Mind

Celebrations are fun! By attaching a party or some activity you love to do to your latest goal milestone, you're teaching yourself this pursuit is a positive journey. Too often, we see our goals as a struggle or something we have to do if we want to be successful. This mindset makes it much more difficult to progress. Developing a success mindset can result when you make a few changes to your viewpoint and focus on the positives.

Celebrating small successes is one way to do this. When you take even a little step closer to your goal, hug that success through some sort of fun recognition. Reward yourself with a mani/pedi or a trip to the movies. Anything that acknowledges your success!

Feel Good

Any kind of celebrations usually makes you feel good. When you're happy, your body makes these tiny chemicals named dopamine. Dopamine is a "feel good chemical'. Once these tiny chemicals are made, your brains want more of them! So, your brain will look for more ways to make more! This creates a positive cycle where you want to continue celebrating any kind of progress that has made you feel so amazing in the first place! Increase Your Confidence.

Celebrating your achievements is like patting yourself on the back for a job well done. This is especially true when you include other people in your activities. You build yourself up through these celebrations and strengthen the idea that you can complete your goal. Confidence is a strong motivator.

Share the Happiness

Not only are celebrations fun, they're also happy-inducing. We talked about the feel-good chemicals. Well, sharing these celebrations is a great way to spread the happiness around. And it’s very inspirational. Those closest to you will want to share in your success because they're dang proud of you and want good things for you. But the best part of all of this? Your success might just spark the desire in your friends to reach for their own dreams. It's really contagious! So, enjoy that celebration!

These are just a few ways you can benefit from celebrating your milestones, successes and accomplishments on the way to reaching your goals. Each one of these little celebrations you have will probably present you to yet another good thing to come from them. Enjoy the process and just have fun!
